When the Indian Constitution was implemented on 26 November 1949 by the Constitution assembly, it had 22 Parts, 395 Articles, and 8 Schedules. But at present, it had 22 Parts, 395 Articles, and 12 Schedules.
Of the total articles of the constitution, 15 articles were implemented on 26 November 1949 while the remaining articles were implemented on 26 January 1950.

Some other work of Indian Constitution assembly-
- It adopted the national flag of India on 22 July 1947.
- It adopted the National Anthem on 24 January 1950 and the National Song on 26 January 1950.
- This assembly selected the first President of India ' Dr. Rajendra Prasad on 24 January 1950.
